About Tendru
Tendru, a boutique wine importer and distributor, was founded by Lisa Palmer, wife of acclaimed chef Charlie Palmer. Lisa’s journey from her career as a professional ballet dancer to the world of wine was inspired by her and Charlie’s shared passion for exceptional wines discovered during their travels. She met Charlie while managing a four-star restaurant in NYC, where their mutual love for food and wine first sparked. Together, their shared experiences deepened their appreciation for fine wines, ultimately leading her to a new chapter in the wine industry. The name Tendru, drawn from the ballet term "tendu," reflects the precision and artistry of her former career.
Tendru’s portfolio is carefully curated, with each wine telling the story of its producer. The team personally visits every winery, handpicking each bottle to ensure the highest quality. Tendru’s wines are showcased in Charlie Palmer's restaurants, select venues nationwide, and will soon be featured in Appellation, a food and wine-centric hotel brand launching on the West Coast in 2025. Currently, Tendru distributes wines from Sonoma, where Lisa calls home, and imports select wines from Pascal Bouchard in Bourgogne, France. With plans to expand to more exclusive selections from France, Tendru remains committed to supporting its partner producers and sharing their unique stories with every order.
