The 2021 LIMESTONE Chardonnay originates from a single vineyard on the outskirts of the Santa Rosa plain area located in the heart of the Russian River Valley. A quite approachable Chardonnay with great detail and energy. Enticing sweet aromas of white flower, caramel, flaky brioche, and key lime peel waft from the glass. Energetic on the entry with warm flavors of baked apple crisp and candied citrus rind with nuances of dried chamomile petals and shaved fresh ginger. Barrel fermented, stirred every two weeks for 5 months, and aged in neutral French oak adds a layer of grace from the slow but intentional incursion of oxygen. Simultaneously supple and crisp, this Chardonnay will age gracefully for the next 4-7 years.
